Science has outlined four ways that our universe could meet its doom.
They’re called the Big Freeze, the Big Crunch, the Big Change and the Big Rip.
Via The Big Question series on BBC.
Honestly, this is one of the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Erik Wernquist is a digital artist and animator from Stockholm, Sweden.
In Erik’s own words:
the film is a vision of our humanity’s future expansion into the Solar System.
The visuals in the film are all based on scientific ideas and concepts of what our future in space might look like, if it ever happens. All the locations depicted in the film are digital recreations of actual places in the Solar System, built from real photos and map data where available. For those interested in learning more of the places featured in the film, be sure to check out this cool gallery on Erik’s website.
The film is an AMAZING piece of work.
As the leader of the Imaging Team on the Cassini mission to Saturn, Carolyn Porco interprets and shares the pictures coming back from this fascinating planet, its rings and its moons.
This gives me goosebumps everytime. Still, to these days, my favorite TED talk ever.
The Cassini Mission to Saturn is a joint effort between NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian space agency (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana – ASI) and one of the most successful space mission since Apollo’s Moon landing in 1969.
If you’re into astronomy or astrophysics it’s definitely worth to follow the brilliant and charming Dr. Porco on Twitter.
